Boland Cellar releases Five Climates Chenin Blanc 2015
The Multi-award winning Chenin Blanc producer from Paarl, Boland Cellar is proud to announce the release of their Boland Cellar Five Climates 2015.
Five Climates Chenin Blanc 2015:
With grapes sourced from two, of the five, climatic regions, which is used in the Five Climates range of wines, this premium unwooded wine gives true expression to the different climatic regions in which the grapes for this wine is grown. By using fruit from the Paardeberg and Drakenstein regions it allows Boland access into two micro-climates. Each micro-climate (soil types) produces distinctive fruit with unique characteristics, thus enabling winemaker Johan Joubert to take on the most important aspect of winemaking; and that is crafting the wine by blending the components from the different climatic regions. Good blending adds both complexity and balance. The blending of these climatic regions results in a well-structured wine with complexity, naturally good acidity, low pH and welcomed freshness. On the palette, this wine offers hints of guava fruit, ripe apple and pear flavors with fresh fruit salad aromas and a lovely coat of acidity. This flavor-full wine is ideal for everyday enjoyment and can be purchased at selected liquor outlets and Boland Cellar Tasting Room for R32 a bottle.
Cellar Master Johan Joubert put a lot of time and thought into his wines, he explains, “I believe in mastering the art of blending, understanding soil profiles, making use of GIS (geographical information system) and using a proprietary Boland natural yeast strain.” Johan’s focus is on the consumer and believes in making wine that wine drinkers love to drink. He adds “ The Five Climates Chenin Blanc 2015 vintage is a vintage that will age extremely well due to its naturally low pH level and a high concentration of chenin fruit”.
