Boland Cellar’s pivoting role in Chenin Blanc’s diversity in South Africa

One of Boland Cellar’s historical and evolutionary characteristics since its founding in the 1940’s was chartering and developing pioneering initiatives with South Africa’s own white grape cultivar Chenin Blanc. Being one of the earliest advocates for this remarkable grape that is planted more widely in South Africa than anywhere else in the world, the Cellar’s dedicated grower members and innovating viticulturists and winemakers over the year’s consistently planted and produced a diverse range of exceptional Chenins, many of which had been awarded with prestigious global wine awards.
